Iceland Trip Report 2018 – NEW IMAGES

I’m still trying to catch up on the mammoth task of editing my best images from a hectic winter season. As always there isn’t enough hours in the day. Nevertheless, I wanted to try and share some new images from our recent trip to the south coast of Iceland and Snaefellsness. Loads more to edit but this should give you a good idea of how the trip panned out. If your thinking of coming to Iceland with us take a look at some of the links below.

The weather always plays a crucial part in any trip. It dictates the style and atmosphere. We would love to be able to control the weather, but alas its out of our hands:) What we can control is how we react to it. I would like to think that we work really hard to deliver great opportunities in all situations and this is a key part of the ExploreLight model.

The first part of this years trip put this theory to the test with a lot of rain and oftentimes really tough conditions. Nevertheless we pushed hard to try and get everyone out and engaged. With a positive attitude, great local knowledge and skill in adjusting to the conditions we we’re able to make some stunning images using the grey skies and moody atmosphere to our advantage. We had a great crew of people on board and everyone showed great dedication to come home with some great images. If part one of the trip was being dubbed the ‘Moody Blues’ I think it’s fair the call the second part of the adventure ‘The Green Machine’. After some pretty big downpours the skies opened up and we experienced an epic night of northern lights. Intense displays with exploding coronas and all kind of amazing green magic. Truly a night to remember. I always feel like on every trip you get something different.

You never hit everything in perfect light, or at least how the participants imagined it. But with experience you are able to guide people to make great images in all conditions.

Have a look at the images below from our winter 2018 trip plus a few all time favourites below. I hope you enjoy and see you in Iceland soon. Lots of great trips to choose from 🙂 Best .. Peter
